On Saturday July 23rd, 2022 HCE participated in this years Treasure Coast Waterway Cleanup hosted by the Marine Industries of the Treasure Coast. The HCE team consisted of two boats, and spent the morning cleaning up the spoil islands near Sewalls Point in Stuart. The team filled about 15 trash bags and ten 5 gallon buckets of trash which required two boat trips to the disposal site. The majority of the trash collected was aluminum cans and other trash found on the beach and in the mangroves. It was a great day out on the water and we are thrilled to be able to improve our community by helping clean up our natural areas. HCE looks forward to participating in this event again next year, and we encourage everyone to do their part to help keep our waterways clean and trash free.
